Annie Kevans was delighted to be commissioned to create 8 paintings for Soho House's new 'house' in Paris. She chose to depict some famous French cross dressers from history, including King Henri III de Valois, Philippe 1 Duke of Orléans, George Sand and Jean Cocteau. Although these subjects were known for their cross-dressing, several of these paintings are the first to portray these historical figures as their alter egos.
